This article analyzes the SAF (football corporation) as a form of organization for Brazilian football clubs. The SAF was created by law no. 14,193/2021, which amended the PELÉ law and created a new legal framework for professional football. The objective of the study is to understand the characteristics, benefits and challenges of SAF and its potential impact on the club's management, governance and sustainability. Debt management can also help with bankruptcy. To this end, deductive methods based on literature, qualitative methodology, with an exploratory approach, based on bibliographical research and analysis of texts that deal with the topic were used. This result shows that SAF can contribute to the professionalization, transparency and modernization of Brazilian football, as long as the club's laws, regulations and internal rules are applied and managed effectively by the competent bodies. The article seeks to demonstrate that the SAF is both an opportunity for clubs to adapt to the new demands of the market and society, and a challenge to preserve their identity, history and values.
