The medicinal use of cannabis: legal aspects of access to medication

Abstract

The present article aims to discuss the medical use of cannabis, as well as to analyze the legal aspects related to cultivation authorizations both for individuals and patient associations that make use of its medicinal properties, commenting on the content of the legislation that allowed and allows the importation of products containing cannabinoids and approaches the possibility of the defrayment of the treatment by SUS. The methodology used was bibliographical and documental in a qualitative way with the purpose of carrying out a study of the progress made with regard to its regulation for medicinal use, as well as whether there is a need for legislative updating.
