The national adoption process is painfully slow in the light of the law n. 12.010/2009

This article examines the challenges that affect the slowness of the national adoption process and the legal requirements established by Law n. 12.010/2009, such as bureaucratic issues and legal obstacles. This analysis reveals that despite improvements brought by the law, seeking to benefit this process, the effective implementation still faces some obstacles, such as the lack of adequate infrastructure in child and adolescent protection bodies. In addition to complex judicial processes and a shortage of specialized professionals. has prolonged the children's wait for a home. This study emphasizes the need to implement measures to streamline the system, such as investment in training professionals, modernizing procedures and encouraging society to obtain more adoptive attitudes and motivate interested people and change the characteristics of the children they want. The article concludes that despite the advances and efforts implemented, the slowness of the national adoption process is still worrying and requires coordinated and continuous actions to ensure that children and adolescents suitable for adoption find a home and a family that provides an environment safe and loving.
