This article aims to present the “I Belong” Campaign and the rights of stateless persons in Brazil, through a legal-social analysis of the protection of the Brazilian legal system. The general objective is to analyze whether Brazilian legislation is providing due support to stateless persons in the country, also based on international treaties and International Conventions carried out by the United Nations (UN). In this sense, the specific objectives present key concepts, such as: stateless person, nationality and conflicts of nationality, to later present the international conventions on the rights of stateless persons and the “I Belong” movement, and, in the end, analyze Brazilian legislation against international conventions. in relation to the rights of stateless persons. The methodology adopted is qualitative and the method of approach is deductive, based on theoretical research, through analysis of doctrinal works and scientific articles. It is concluded that the present study aimed to demonstrate the importance of having a nationality, as it guarantees basic fundamental rights and a life with dignity. Through studies carried out on Brazilian legislation and the guidelines of International Conventions and the UN, Brazil was only able to guarantee the protection of stateless persons from the enactment of the Migration Law, in 2017 and even in the face of this new Law, there are still gaps to be completed by the Brazilian State in order to ensure that stateless persons are duly supported by Brazilian legislation.
