Woke culture on the couch: a psychoanalytic analysis of defense mechanisms in the structural racism

Abstract

This intellectual effort seeks to carry out a critical analysis of Woke Culture from the perspective of Philosophy and Psychoanalysis, especially the concept of structural racism. This is a relevant and current topic that demands reflection and understanding of social phenomena based on clear and distinct concepts. In this context, Psychoanalysis presents itself as a valuable tool for understanding and criticizing the political manifestations present in Woke Culture and the concept of structural racism. The article uses the literature of Machado de Assis as a critical model of society and highlights dimensions that remain hidden in attitudes of social justice.

    Graduação em Filosofia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2003), Especialização sobre o Ensino de Filosofia pela Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (2005), Mestrado em Filosofia pela Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (2005) e Doutorado pelo Programa Interdisciplinar em Ciências Humanas pela Universidade Federal de Catarina (2009). Atualmente professor Associado da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Professor Visitante da Universidade de Barcelona - UB (2009-2011). Pós-doutorado em Filosofia, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ. Pós-doutorado em Desenvolvimento Regional, Universidade do Contestado (UNC). Líder do Grupo de Estudos Interdisciplinares em Ciências Humanas, Contingência e Técnica.  A ênfase é em Filosofia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Ética, Violência, Estado, Filosofia, Educação, Multidisciplinaridade, Interdisciplinaridade, Transdisciplinaridade, Interculturalismo, Multiculturalismo, Modernidade e Pós-modernidade.
