The establishment of the União Maior Motoboys Association (AUMM) in Blumenau was the result of strategic support provided by the Technological Incubator of Popular Cooperatives (ITCP) at the Regional University of Blumenau (FURB). This support was carried out through university extension activities, in response to the worsening of labor precarization driven by platform-based economies. In this context, the collective organization of motorcycle couriers emerged as a necessary alternative to confront the challenges imposed by new dynamics in the world of work. This study aims to describe the experience of ITCP/FURB’s support to AUMM, highlighting the strategies implemented to strengthen the association's structure and to analyze the impacts of platformization on working conditions. The qualitative research is based on an experience report and employed tools such as: meetings, situational diagnoses, discussion groups, and organizational consulting. The findings indicate that the advisory process significantly contributed to organizational strengthening, fostering greater engagement among the category, political awareness, and the development of collective strategies to defend workers’ rights. The experience demonstrates that collective organization, supported by institutional backing, is a powerful tool in the struggle for improved working and living conditions, underscoring the urgent need for public policies aimed at mitigating the precarization imposed by digital platform economies.
