Abstract

This paper proposes a theoretical discussion on the presence of intercorporeality (PESSANHA, 2018) in the narrative construction of Clarice Lispector's book The Hour of the Star (1977). Our article corroborates the fact that the conceptual discussion privileged here is part of our doctoral thesis completed within the scope of NECC/PPGEL/UFMS. It illustrates the conceptual approach to intercorporeality when the author puts into practice in her literary narrative a writing with the body, which, in its own way, refers to a practice of rewriting, as we try to show in our reflection. Based on the postulates of frontier biographical criticism (NOLASCO, 2015), which, in its own way, bases all its theorisation on the presence of the ‘bios’ and the ‘locus’, we want to argue that the practice of intercorporeality paves the way for a decolonial rewriting in an unforced way, especially when we observe that, in the narrative in question, Clarice writes with her body. We aspire to carry out this discussion without neglecting, at any moment in our conceptual theoretical reflection, the presence of the book The Hour of Writing, since it is the trigger for our entire proposal. Thus, we hope that, based on the proposed concepts, we can circumvent the theorisation that involves “I write with the body” found in the work under study.

Key words: inter-corporeality; border biographical criticism; The hour of the star.
