Abstract

The main consequences in the manipulation of technical devices in contemporary times are: quantification, fabrication and acceleration. It is worth analyzing here whether in the contemporary world a new way of dealing with the real that does not quantify, manufacture or accelerate can give rise. On the other hand, to understand the concept of quantification is to put it in confrontation with what we call quality, and to understand the concept of manufacturing is to presuppose the concepts of quantification, quality, manufacturing, resulting in what Sartre called serialization. Finally, the concept of acceleration can only be understood assuming two conceptions of time: linear and duration. With that, the article sought to answer the following question: the process that leads us to quantity/quality; fabrication/serialization would cause a great acceleration, given that time is one of the characteristics of technical devices in contemporary times, throwing us a reenchanted and actively nihilistic presenteeism.

Keywords: modernity; interference; device; nihilism.
